Frances Nelson Pub – Hardy Street, Nelson

Commercial Electrical

GRE Services completed the full lighting upgrade for Frances Nelson Pub (Fanny’s), the newly reimagined hospitality venue revitalising one of Hardy Street’s most iconic bar locations — formerly The Buxton and 623. The redevelopment blends rustic charm with modern character, anchored by theatre-style drapery and a striking ship installation above the back bar that sets the venue’s distinctive nautical tone.

Our scope included precision bar lighting, custom-selected feature pendants, shelving illumination, and courtyard lighting, all designed to complement the new interior aesthetic. The layered lighting scheme was tailored to highlight architectural details, enhance the nautical centrepiece, and create a warm, energy-efficient ambience across the dining and bar zones.

To support smooth service and functionality, we incorporated crisp task lighting along the bar and service areas, ensuring the right balance between mood, atmosphere, and operational performance. Every fixture was chosen to integrate seamlessly with the venue’s design direction while providing long-term reliability and reduced energy consumption. This project highlights GRE Services’ expertise in hospitality lighting design, delivering customised solutions that elevate guest experience and bring character-driven spaces to life in Nelson’s vibrant dining scene.

Crafting lighting that elevates atmosphere, enhances design, and defines the modern hospitality experience.
