Fossil Creek Farm Trust

Commercial Electrical/Solar

GRE Services was thrilled to be part of a meaningful community project at Fossil Creek Farm Trust, a Nelson-based organisation providing mental health support through animal-assisted therapy and compassionate outdoor programs. Working alongside Scott Construction Nelson, Ideal Electrical, the Ideal Foundation, and a group of generous local partners, we helped bring reliable off-grid power to a small but important farm building on the property.

Our team installed a complete off-grid Solar PV and battery system, providing dependable energy for lighting, power outlets, and essential amenities. This includes the ability to run a fridge, heater, and other small appliances — ensuring the space remains warm, welcoming, and functional for supporters and visitors. The installation allows families and carers to relax, make a cup of tea, and recharge while clients participate in their therapy sessions.

GRE Services proudly donated materials and labour for the electrical installation, while the Ideal Foundation supplied the solar panels, batteries, and inverters that form the backbone of the off-grid system. Additional support from PlaceMakers, Tim Miller Plumbing, Current Generation, Waterless Composting Toilets NZ, Higgins, Richmond Glass, and Go Flash helped bring the project to life.

This was a true community effort — a collaboration that supports the Trust’s mission and strengthens access to mental health and animal-assisted wellbeing services across the Nelson Tasman region. GRE Services is honoured to contribute our skills to such an impactful cause.

Smart off-grid design, community collaboration, and meaningful impact — powering spaces that support wellbeing.
